Circle of Care

We believe in a philosophy we call the Circle of Care that promotes the idea that how we treat each other is how staff will treat residents, families, and others who depend on Lakeside Park for friendly, compassionate, and quality care. We have developed a Circle of Care Committee comprised of staff, volunteers, and interns. This committee helps to provide AgeSong with ideas for improvement, recognition, and general feedback on how we are living our mission to improve the model of care for elders and enhance society’s perception of the caregiving profession. In addition to general meetings, the Circle of Care Committee also oversees the nominations and selection of the Circle of Care Leadership Awards that are given annually to those members who exemplify our core values. Staff, interns, and volunteers are nominated by their peers.

The core values as defined by the committee are:

A Awareness - keeping our eyes wide open and remaining alert and well-informed about the needs of residents, staff, interns and the greater community.
G Growth - being open to learning and accepting personal and professional challenges in order to better ourselves and provide the best care possible for residents.
E Excellence – working together, giving our very best and going above and beyond what is required regardless of whether anyone notices or rewards us.
S Spirit – being filled with a passion for life and showing a real enjoyment and enthusiasm for the work that we do. This honors life in all of its stages and becomes as natural as breathing.
O Openness – being receptive, flexible, and open-minded about thoughts and ideas contrary to our own – because we acknowledge that all people have various life experiences which mold their perception and decisions.
N Nurturing – actively empowering elders to strengthen their will by providing love, hope, and encouragement, as well as a friendly smile, a shoulder to lean on, and a hand to hold.
G Giving-back – offering our talents and ourselves in order to enhance the lives of elders, we do this because we are privileged and blessed to take part in re-establishing the value of aging.
